What is Involved in a Brow Lift?
A brow lift, or forehead lift as it’s sometimes called, is a cosmetic procedure to remove or reduce the horizontal lines across the forehead. It’s also used to improve the appearance of the deep vertical lines that often appear between the eyebrows and give your face a constant angry look.
How Much Does a Brow Lift Cost?
Brow lift costs may vary between patients depending on the scope of the procedure, as well as other variables.
During your initial consultation, Dr. Contogiannis will thoroughly discuss your specific case and should be able to give you a more accurate cost assessment and breakdown at that time. Most cosmetic surgeries are not covered by insurance, so it’s best to contact your provider to find out which procedures they will or will not provide coverage for.
In an effort to keep patient procedures as affordable as possible for our clients, we offer financing as an option for your brow lift surgery through Alphaeon® or CareCredit®.
How Does a Brow Lift Work?
Dr. Contogiannis performs brow lift surgery in our accredited outpatient center, using general anesthesia for your safety and comfort. An inconspicuous incision is made along the hairline and the brow skin is tightened.
She also removes any excess tissue that could cause the skin to droop. This diminishes or eliminates the lines and wrinkles on the forehead, leaving the brow area smoother and tighter.
When it’s necessary or desired, brow lifts can also be performed in conjunction with other facial surgeries, such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) or a neck lift.
What Are the Benefits of a Brow Lift?
A brow lift has many benefits, and our patients are typically delighted with their results. Some common benefits include:
- Elimination of a tired or consistently angry look
- Short recovery period
- Opens up the eyes, giving an appearance of greater alertness
- Results are natural looking
- Refreshed, younger, and more rejuvenated overall facial appearance
Am I a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?
Chances are, if you’re a healthy adult interested in getting rid of the vertical furrows between your brows, or want to diminish the horizontal lines across your forehead, you’ll be a great candidate for brow lift surgery.
It’s important that you’re not currently experiencing any medical issues that could interfere with the natural healing process of the body.
Dr. Contogiannis will help you align your expectations with what’s attainable and realistic for your specific circumstances, so you’ll be delighted with your results.
What Can I Expect During Recovery Following a Brow Lift?
You may have your forehead taped or loosely wrapped to keep swelling and bruising to a minimum. You may also have a thin tube put in place to drain any fluids or blood that might collect beneath the skin.
Within about two weeks, you should be able to resume your normal activities with hardly anyone being able to tell you had any work done. Healing will continue over a few months, during which time the scars will begin to diminish and ultimately fade away.
